Stone Martin illustreerde in de jaren '40 en '50 hoezen voor een 400-tal Jazzalbums.

"Much of his work was for the Norman Granz labels Clef, Norgran, and Verve, as well as JATP overs. He was known for his depictions of Charlie Parker, LesterYoung, Billie Holiday, Illinois Jacquet, and many others. His work has been displayed at the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, The Art Institute of Chicago, and the Smithsonian Institution." (G's Jazz)
